Kenyan urban music artist and P Unit member, Gabu, has confirmed his latest project with Tanzania Bongo Flava singer, Mbosso. While talking to Wasafi Media’s Refresh, Gabu explained how Mbosso approached him in his studio and together, they did a song together called, Mastory
Gabu and Mbosso have been hanging out together for quite some time now and it comes to no surprise that they have already made a song together. Their latest song, Mastory, is their first project together and will serve as a good wake up call to the other P Unit members.
Apparently, Mbosso, while still in his Kenyan tour, visited Gabu at his studio, Compaq Records, and after listening to a couple of tracks together, they settled on a good compromise which they called Mastory. With the audio already out, Gabu is currently in Tanzania for the official music video shoot with his music counterpart, Mbosso
In the interview, Gabu also pleaded with business promoters to respect musicians in 2019 by paying them what they are worth. He admitted that he would rather do a few shows that pay well than get called to shows everyday only to be paid peanuts.
This comes just months after Kenya’s controversial musician, Akothee, made the same request to promoters after realizing that Kenyan artists are underpaid compared to Tanzanian musicians.
Gabu also expressed his desire to work with several Tanzanian artists among them, Nandy, Vanessa Mdee, and Navy Kenzo, all owing to their creativity in music.
