Jua Cali Commends Ethic for Their Music and Announces New Album

Kenyan hip hop artist and Calif Records king, Jua Cali, has admitted that Ethic is currently the best upcoming music group in the country. While speaking to Willy M Tuva of the Mseto East Africa, the Genge rapper applauded the group for their controversial music and gave them a thumb Bigup.

Jua Cali goes way back in Kenyan music, back when kapuka music was at its peak. He is known for his melodious songs Kwaheri and Kiasi which so him win multiple awards in East Africa. He also mentored many artists both locally and in East Africa at large.

During the interview, Jua Cali announced his 4th upcoming album, Mali Ya Umma, which is set for release on March this year. The Najuta hitmaker intends to shoot at least two music videos and do a collabo with Tanzanian Professor Jay before releasing the official album.

Jua Cali opened up about the trend in Kenyan music and why artists are not getting a wider reach unlike in Tanzania. He blames lack of melodious songs and westernization of the industry which has led people to forgetting their core culture.

The Bongo La Biashara went on to commend Kenyan band, Sauti Sol and upcoming music crew, Ethic, popularly known for their hit songs Lamba Lolo and Instagram. He ended the interview by claiming that dirty or not, music is just music, and artists draw their inspiration from women.
