Almost a year after Kid Tini dropped his supposed diss track, Movie, directed at A-Reece, the young South African rapper has finally come out to set the record straight about what really happened. While speaking to Zkiphani TV, Kid Tini explained how he felt so challenged (and threatened) by A-Reece that he had to come out and stick up for himself
“There’s rules to this shit,” he explained. “If someone steps up and tries to challenge your skill… I come from a town where that don’t fly. You gotta stand up and stick up for yourself. That’s exactly what I did with Movie”
Kid Tini is a young rapper from the Eastern Cape, signed under the TinismDotc0m record label. He is well known for his hit song Cinga and banger album, Coming of Age. Tini went platinum early last year after he went after South African veteran rapper, A-Reece with his diss song, Movie.
In the interview, Kid Tini explained why he dissed A-Reece. Apparently, he felt it was his right to write a comeback after the tension between the two rappers started to surface.
“I don’t have beef with A-Reece right now,” he said. “It’s just that, I’m a rapper, and when I dropped that record, I dropped it as a rapper… I was doing what rappers do.”
Kid Tini also said that he is always up to any challenge. He made it clear that he was not afraid to be dissed, just as much as he wasn’t afraid to do it to anybody too.
“I want all the smoke.. If you feel like you can step up to the boy and actually go toe to toe, you better be willing to go for a minute… cause I can keep this going all the way…I’m not gonna pick on anybody but… if you step on my shoes, you’ll regret it.”
